Description

RapidAPI is a team of creators building for developers. We are the world's largest API Hub where over 3 million developers find, test, and connect to 35,000 APIs (and growing!) — all with a single account, single API key, and single SDK.

Our users range from independent developers to the largest companies in the world. We work hard to ensure it's easy for developers to build, discover, and connect to APIs faster while providing enterprise-wide visibility and governance. As a result, entrepreneurs and enterprises can concentrate on creating value and business outcomes.

We operate at a significant scale, but the opportunity is even bigger. You have an unprecedented opportunity to make a massive difference and empower developers to build modern software through API innovation while doing the most critical work of your career.

This role presents a significant opportunity for growth and development in a rapidly growing company.  The right candidate will have an unprecedented opportunity to help shape the way we work in today's environment and make a difference by adding to the fabric of what we do and how we do it.  Working closely with, and as part of the Information Security team, you will build and deploy IT systems that scale in a secure manner.

The RapidAPI IT Engineer position plays a critical role in supporting cross-department efforts in a growing global environment. You will be responsible for building, implementing, and supporting tooling to ensure day-to-day operations for end-users. You should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a passion for providing an excellent end user experience. As a part of the role, we will grow your IT knowledge and technical skill sets by challenging you to define, manage and deliver on projects that will stretch your creative and technical expertise.

YOU HAVE

    • 5+ years experience with Apple hardware.
    • 3+ years of supporting onboarding or offboarding requests for a company with 100+ employees.
    • 3+ years of troubleshooting and maintaining IT tooling (experience with GSuite, Okta, Slack, Zoom, MDM and anti-virus management is preferred).
    • Ability to clearly communicate, establish playbooks, and write process documentation.
    • Experience building, forecasting, and maintaining budgets.
    • Working knowledge of supporting audio/visual conferencing systems.
    • Ability to self-start and move projects to completion.
    • Evidence of building and executing project plans with partnering departments.
    • Strong desire for team collaboration and execution.
    • Passion for delivering a high-quality end-user experience.
    • Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting.

YOU WILL

    • Aid in inbound end-user support issues, hardware requests, and onboarding or offboarding.
    • Spearhead projects to support resolution of historical IT debt; partner with Information Security and other departments to support the growing IT business need.
    • Create and define IT processes and policies to ensure scalability and sustainability.
    • Design an IT budget to maintain license management, onboarding costs, asset lifecycle management, and equipment costs and help plan for additional growth.
    • Design, build, deploy, and maintain IT tooling to support RapidAPI’s business growth.
    • Uplift SaaS applications to integrate with Okta for automated provisioning and deprovisioning.
    • Provide ongoing support for application and billing issues.
    • Keep up-to-date with industry best practices on IT tooling, processes and information security.
    • Provide creative solutions to IT problems (operating with self-service or automation mindset).
