Description

Who We Are:

The 4M story is likely one you haven’t heard before: We are on a mission to unlock access to the world below us, to do for the world below ground what Google Maps did for the world above. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, we are mapping the subsurface infrastructure to make reliable, real-time utility data accessible to the construction industry - completely transforming a traditional industry. We’re a growing startup with 100 employees currently based in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Austin, Texas.

The Opportunity

As an IT Manager at 4M reporting to the VP R&D, you’ll lead and scale our corporate IT operations — from service desk and infrastructure to networks, security, systems, and new tech rollouts. In this hybrid role, you’ll combine hands-on execution with strategic oversight, ensuring our internal tech supports fast growth and high performance.

You’ll bring a practical solution-oriented mindset, build and enforce IT policies, and collaborate across teams to drive reliability and efficiency. This is a high-impact role with strong cross-org visibility and growth potential as the company expands.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall Corporate IT, including the service desk, network, infrastructure, and third-party platforms. Define, implement, and monitor service level standards to ensure a responsive and effective user support experience.
  • Provide hands-on technical support, including setup and maintenance of end-user devices (laptops, monitors, video conferencing) and management of user accounts.
  • Oversee the full user lifecycle, ensuring smooth onboarding and offboarding across all company systems and hardware.
  • Manage procurement processes for hardware, software, and services, including vendor coordination, license renewals, and invoice tracking.
  • Lead IT improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with the R&D architecture team to define IT solutions that support development needs and align with IT and security policies.
  • Strengthen the company’s security posture by implementing and enforcing key processes, leading incident response, managing phishing incidents, investigating alerts, and coordinating vulnerability remediation.
  • Lead SOC 2 compliance efforts and maintain ongoing readiness.

Requirements

Technical Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working in IT operations.
  • 2+ years as an IT manager.
  • Experience working closely with R&D teams to improve interoperability, security, and performance of systems.
  • Experience working in global high-tech organizations, working closely with company staff located both locally and overseas.
  • Experience in developing and improving IT procedures and standards in global high-tech organizations.
  • Excellent knowledge of networking technologies and concepts (Firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi, Switches).
  • Good knowledge of security technologies and concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with (or similar) JumpCloud, Google Workspace, Slack, ClickUp, CrowdStrike Falcon, and AWS.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including working with Management and general company staff.
  • Thrive on a passion for technology and for getting things done.
  • Passion for service excellence.
  • Be proactive and present solutions that align with the company’s IT strategy and resourcing.
