Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our accounting practices. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for the music industry, a deep understanding of finance, and the ability to navigate the complexities of a startup environment. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Duetti’s accounting / financial operations organization and delivering on our growth plans.

You Will:

Build and maintain best in class financial operations processes; help streamline month-close process via automation, identifying efficiencies and standardization.
Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures to safeguard the company’s assets.
Manage royalty accounting processes, operations, and reporting.
Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors and other third parties to ensure smooth audits.
Manage company expenses and work cross-functionally to support company-wide initiatives and projects.
Report directly to the Head of Finance and have direct exposure to company executives.
Operate in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate project management skills.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
6+ years of experience, public accounting a plus.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis on large data sets.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently without direct daily supervision in an early-stage business environment, and be self-motivated to complete work, solve problems, and approach matters from a proactive perspective.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality work.
Experience with accounting for multiple entities and working with different types of debt.
Experience in a fintech or the music, entertainment, or a related industry is a plus.
