What we’re looking for

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Business Development with vast experience and a proven track record in the American travel insurance industry, to lead the Business Development arm of our Growth department, reporting to the VP of Growth. This is a remote role working with a team spread out across the U.S. and abroad.

The ideal candidate has a substantial background working in an American travel insurance company, with specific experience working with travel advisors, travel agencies, travel service providers, Consortias and host agencies along with other types of partners in the field. A history of leadership experience, sales team management & team-building knowledge is a must.

In this remote role, you will lead one of the company’s most significant growth & distribution units and be in charge of managing and expanding the team, creating and executing business development strategies, and meeting and exceeding team targets.

  • Manage and lead a team of business development managers and help them achieve their professional targets & personal development goals.
  • Analyze and elevate team performance by coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising results of each team member.
  • Identify and develop new scalable business opportunities.
  • Maximize the potential of existing partnerships and make sure we utilize each such partnership to the maximum.
  • Establish new methodologies and routines meant to improve the efficiency and capabilities of the team, and allow it to break performance records on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee and lead the development and establishment of new & strategic distribution channels and verticals.
  • Open doors, establish high profile relationships with potential partners, and bring in significant, strategic, needle moving opportunities to the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other departments and build cross departmental methodologies and routines. This includes ensuring our partner-facing products are top of the line in this market, support business development needs and are compliant.
  • Help to shape the company’s long-term objectives and determine plans for how to meet them.
  • Represent Faye in various professional forums, conferences and events in the travel and insurance space.


  • 10+ years of experience in leading business development activities within the travel insurance industry - with a focus on working with travel trade partners such as tour operators, travel agencies, host agencies and Consortias.
  • Experience working with verticals such as airlines, hospitality and OTAs is a big advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading travel insurance business development teams - managing a team both professionally and administratively.
  • Successful proven track record in B2B2C sales and negotiations, both as an individual contributor and a team leader.
  • Vast experience in building and managing sales pipelines, implementing B2B sales processes and methodologies along with activation and utilization tactics.
  • Strategic leadership abilities, including planning at a high level and executing from A-Z.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain a network of relationships.
  • Tech-savvy with the willingness to learn new softwares and technologies
  • Ability to run with new ideas, be proactive and excel independently.
  • A passion for early stage products related to travel and/or the insurance industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility when it comes to working with different time zones abroad.
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Ability and desire to travel domestically and internationally.
