Responsibilities

GuestyPay is hiring an Underwriter to join the Payments team.

Join us for working in a fast-growing underwriting payments team in the derivatives business unit.

Review incoming merchant applications for possible fraud and credit risk exposure.

Perform the underwriting checks and approve the applications based on applicable laws, policies, and regulations.

Stay on top of regulatory changes and other updates in the payment industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and underwrite merchant accounts.
  • Assess risk based on business type and expected volumes.
  • Review supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Review credit profiles and other financials to support risk.
  • Analyze previous processing statements to determine accurate parameters and potential exposure.
  • Calculate potential exposure and make reserve recommendations as needed.
  • Adhere to bank, federal, and card brand policies when reviewing accounts.
  • Provide secondary analysis on escalated accounts.
  • Communicate with the Team Manager on decisions, and escalate as needed.
  • Perform periodic reviews of existing accounts for re-underwriting.
  • Communicate with our users and help them to complete the application and clarify any questions they may have.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in Underwriting with a strong Payments background (at least 2 years)- Must have experience.
  • Outstanding ability to analyze and solve problems and good coordination and communication.
  • Good understanding of compliance and AML regulatory applicable laws.
  • High-level Excel knowledge- Advantage.
  • Fast learner with a positive attitude and a team player.
  • Decisive yet open to learning.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager) are a plus.

Compensation range- 60-75k OTE annually
