About the role:

As a Principal Scientist - Computational Biologist at Immunai, you will be working in a fast-paced, external-facing research team to implement creative, state-of-the-art computational approaches that maximize the strategic value of the Immunai platform across industry partnerships. Through this position, you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally to deliver AI-powered improvements in clinical trial success rates and patient outcomes.

Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid model)

What will you do?

  • Design and deploy innovative, state-of-the-art analytic approaches, including computational pipelines and agentic workflows, that improve outcomes for industry partnerships.
  • Standardize and operationalize reusable approaches that can be broadly adopted across projects to improve scalability, reproducibility, and scientific consistency.
  • Leverage agentic workflows to amplify the team’s analytical speed, creativity, and automation, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Establish blueprints for platform innovation and drive implementation with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

Required qualifications:

  • PhD in computational biology, computer science, or related field, with 8+ years relevant experience including at least 3+ years of industry
  • Strong coding abilities (Python required, R a plus)
  • Creative and innovative mindset - AI-first, with demonstrated track record of pushing scientific and technical boundaries
  • Experience designing and implementing agentic workflows with appropriate human-in-the-loop checkpoints
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning methodologies and the ability to adapt, utilize and extend internal modeling frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience translating technical work to clear, high-impact outcomes
  • Expertise in distilling multi-faceted analyses into concrete conclusions with effective data visualizations and presentations.

Compensation: This position offers a base salary typically between $160,000 and $190,000. There is an opportunity to consider higher compensation above this range based on business need, candidate experience, and or skills.
