We are looking for a Data Business Analyst to join us at INSHUR! We’re based in sunny Brighton ☀️ (sea 🌊, chips 🍟, and seagulls 🕊️ included), and our company embraces a hybrid working model, allowing you to thrive in both collaborative office settings and the comfort of your own home 🏠. You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely while also connecting with your colleagues at our London office 2 days a week, with occasional travel to Brighton, fostering a dynamic and supportive environment.
You’ll be working on re-inventing insurance in exciting markets across multiple territories including the UK 🇬🇧, US 🇺🇸, and the Netherlands 🇳🇱, with plans to expand into new European countries.
Supported by (and reporting to) the Head of Data and Analytics, you'll be joining a cross functional team who believe in using the power of data to unlock the untold opportunities it can present for the business to grow.

What you'll do
As a Business Analyst in the Data Insights team you will bridge the gap between data and business.
Using your analytical skills you will understand business information requirements across all areas of the company globally and translate them into actionable steps for delivery. This includes understanding core business processes and decision points, and the data needed to support these; identifying how these relate to existing data models and any gaps in these.
You will work closely with departmental stakeholders and external partners, utilising your business acumen to understand their needs and relative priorities. You will support the Data Insights team with building and managing their delivery backlog.
🎯 We don’t have a definite checklist of skills – our hiring process is much more about aptitude and passion than ticking boxes. So don’t worry if you haven’t used a particular tool or checked off all the listed skills and experience.
That said, below is a guideline of skills that we think would make you successful in this role:
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Good general data skills and knowledge of reporting and visualisation tools.
- Business acumen and experience of eliciting clear requirements and collaborating to ensure that the requirements deliver real business value.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data findings for a non-technical audience.
- A proven track record of getting things done; taking ownership and demonstrating energy and passion.
- An ability to facilitate and influence to achieve desired outcomes rather than through direct control.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools
- Experience of agile working and use of JIRA for backlog management and reporting
- Previous experience in the Insurance industry

What to expect from the process:
Screen & Intro: 30-minute video call with the Talent Team to discuss the role and your experience.
First Interview: 60-minute video call with the Head of Analytics and a People Partner delve into the role, including technical questions and team fit
Case Study: 60-minute in-person interview at our office in London or Brighton with the Head of Analytics and a Data Engineer where you’ll do a brief whiteboard task and answer follow-up questions.

What we offer
Our budget for this role is £60,000-70,000 and we will take into account any previous experience and location of work when agreeing on the final offer.
