The opportunity

Unity’s Accounting team is looking to hire a Senior Manager, Reporting and Policy that will be an integral part of our accounting team. This role will have an immediate impact on our month-end close process as well as strengthening our overall reconciliation process. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical with a strong attention to detail and able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

As Senior Manager, Reporting and Policy you will lead an accounting team that is responsible for the day-to-day accounting activities in the areas of revenue recognition, sales commissions, software capitalization and stock based compensation. In addition, you will be the local leader for accounting policy and helping advise local accounting teams on the appropriate technical accounting conclusions. The Senior Manager will have a knack for identifying issues easily, putting forth solutions and escalating at the appropriate times and to the appropriate levels. The ideal candidate will be analytical in approach and have a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically about global initiatives and the impact to GAAP accounting.

This is a hybrid position based in our Bangalore office.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities in the areas of revenue, sales commissions, stock based compensation and software capitalization
• Maintain and update global accounting policies, including the adoption of new accounting standards in accordance with US GAAP
• Collaborate with key stakeholders by responding to technical accounting inquiries and review accounting memorandums for non-standard accounting transactions
• Support the SEC reporting team in the review of financial statements and footnote schedules prepared by the global accounting teams to support our 10Q/10K filings
• Develop, recommend, and/or drive innovative process improvements that leverage technology and maximize overall efficiency while maintaining or strengthening internal controls
• Actively coaching and developing direct reports on business and technical accounting

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 10+ years of experience; Big 4 and similar experience with public companies preferred
• Comprehensive and current understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting principles and regulations
• Experience managing teams and managers
• Chartered Accountant
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and convey information concisely
