The opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Staff Data Engineer to lead the development and evolution of our Data Platform that provides game developers with invaluable insights into their game performance and player behavior. In this high-impact role, you'll architect scalable data solutions, drive effective data platform adoption across the organization and mentor engineering teams. You'll work at the intersection of engineering excellence and business impact, ensuring our data infrastructure supports current needs while scaling for future growth.

What you'll be doing

• Platform leadership - design, build, maintain our Data Platform infrastructure using modern cloud technologies and industry best practices.
• Strategic planning - drive the technical roadmap for data platform capabilities, balancing immediate needs and critical asks, with long-term maintainability.
• Hands-on - you are hands-on in the technical aspects and balance building with planning effectively.
• Operational excellence - measure and improve platform reliability, performance and scalability.

What we're looking for

• Experience working with data as it flows through distributed systems and streaming technologies.
• Experience with data platform engineering, centralising data needs and serving both producers and consumers in achieving their goals
• Data quality and observability experience
• Strong experience working cross-function and cross-team to deliver high-quality data where its needed most
• Excellent technical skills to translate business needs to data platform requirements, and communication skills to translate progress, blockers and findings back to the business.
