Who We Are

Lightricks is a pioneer in innovative technology that bridges the gap between imagination and creation. As an AI-first company with a mission to build an innovative photo and video creation platform, our photo and video editing tools – Facetune, Videoleap, and Photoleap – offer endless possibilities and inspiration, while our brand platform, Popular Pays, offers brands the opportunity to scale their marketing efforts by partnering with creators. We aim to enable both content creators and brands to produce engaging, top-performing content, based on groundbreaking facial recognition and generative AI features.

The User Research team at Lightricks does all sorts of research - generative, evaluative, strategic studies with multiple methods, and usability studies. The team works with all of the product verticals at Lightricks, with multiple products and target audiences, all of which adds up to one of the most exciting, dynamic user research roles out there! The team works cross functionally with product leadership, designers, product managers, product marketing managers and more in order to better understand our users and target audiences.

The User Research team’s ultimate purpose is to deliver insights and help facilitate product and business decisions that give value to our users, offer a great user experience, and support the company’s business goals.

As the User Research Team Lead, you’ll conduct research studies with multiple methods, manage and mentor the researchers who report to you, and work continuously to improve the strategic input and work processes of the team in general.

What you will be doing

  • Manage and mentor a small team of researchers while also conducting research on your own
  • Continuously iterate on the team’s work processes, within the team and with the rest of Product, in order to increase efficiency and impact
  • Represent the user research team cross-functionally and work with our strategic partners across the organization
  • Utilize LLMs to make various aspects of the research process more efficient and the team more agile.
  • Turn stakeholder priorities and questions into actionable research plans that are methodologically sound and lean enough to work within a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Advocate for the incorporation of findings into our products through reporting, presenting, and working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct various generative and evaluative research studies, including surveys, interviews, diary studies, usability tests, ethnography, and more. This includes research planning, participant recruitment, execution of methods, analysis, and working with stakeholders throughout the research process.
  • Play a key role in analyzing research and turning it into actionable insights
  • Educate stakeholders in order to support research democratization efforts and enable elegant, purposeful cross-functional work.

Your skills and experience

  • Highly motivated, passionate, and independent as a researcher and as a leader
  • Required: 2-4 years experience as a UX Researcher / User Researcher. Experience as a product designer, product manager, or other UX professional alone is not sufficient for this role.
  • Management and leadership experience within the tech industry
  • An advanced understanding of research methodology such as usability testing, qualitative interviewing, surveying, and more.
  • Demonstrated ability to use LLMs throughout the research process for increased efficiency.
  • Advantage: B2C experience and experience doing research for products that incorporate AI technology.
  • Natural curiosity and genuine interest in the field: the thought of spending your day gaining greater understanding of how people think and work excites you more than it does the general public.
  • Excellent, demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders at once. This includes relationship building, problem solving, and project management.
  • Great communication skills – written and verbal are a must. You know how to get users talking, how to write compelling reports, and everything in between.
