Financial Accountant

12 month FTC (Maternity cover, must be immediately available)

The European finance team is responsible for the financial management of Teads across 7 countries (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands).

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager Europe, this represents a great opportunity to gain experience in many aspects of a finance department in a rapidly growing digital organisation.

The Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the maintenance and integrity of certain account ledgers with a focus on Balance Sheet reconciliations and intercompany. In addition to month end duties, the Financial Accountant will assist the Head of Finance with the group financial audit and preparation of the group financial statements, proving this to be a highly interesting and varied role.

We are looking for a team player, who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves and helping in different areas as well as someone who has a proven track record of delivering to tight month end timelines.

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the general ledger, post journals, complete month-end using Teads’s financial system (Netsuite) and ensure smooth finance operations across Teads UK and several European subsidiaries.
  • Maintain reconciliation of key accounts including OPEX accruals, Fixed Assets and Prepayments.
  • Liaising with AP to ensure correct invoice processing
  • Liaising with HR/Marketing departments to ensure alignment with yearly budget
  • Variance analysis and commentary of month-end accounts
  • Liaising with external auditors as one of the main points of contact for the year end and statutory audits.
  • Assist with preparation of an ETB (extended trial balance) through to submission of the annual statutory group financial statements, as well as subsidiary filings.
  • Review monthly packs for submission from external accountants across Europe.
  • Support the Head of finance and Finance Manager with various ad-hoc tasks.
  • Support the development of finance functions and processes and assist in testing of system upgrades and automation projects

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Relevant work experience in a similar accounting role 6+ years.
  • PQ finalist or newly qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting system skills.
  • Forensic attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated.
  • Proactive attitude – ability to take initiative to get things done.
  •  Good level of Excel skills (Vlookups, SumIf formulas, etc)
  • Be motivated with an eye for process improvement.
  • Ability to deal with a fast-paced environment that comes with working in a start up to scale up, high growth business.
