About The Opportunity

The Finance Manager - Mexico will serve as the Finance lead for the Mexico legal entity, overseeing accounting operations, local financial reporting, financial analysis, and internal controls. This role supports a fast-paced, multinational technology organization and partners closely with regional Finance and Accounting leadership, local Commercial leadership, Human Resources, and external accounting firms to ensure accurate reporting under US GAAP, compliance with corporate policies, and adherence to Mexican statutory requirements.

While statutory reporting and tax filings are prepared by external accounting partners, this role is responsible for the integrity of the financial information reported to Corporate Accounting and serves as the primary Finance leader supporting the Mexico business on the ground.

The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of three accounting team members while overseeing external accounting partners, providing day-to-day management, coaching, and continuous development. This individual will also play a key role in Finance transformation initiatives through the adoption of NetSuite, AI-enabled tools, automation.

What will you do?

  • Lead the monthly close process under US GAAP, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.
  • Own the monthly accounting close, corporate financial reporting, financial analysis of key general ledger accounts, and audit coordination for the Mexico legal entity while partnering with external accountants responsible for statutory reporting and tax compliance.
  • Manage relationships with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors to ensure timely statutory reporting, audit support, regulatory filings, and compliance.
  • Own balance sheet, intercompany, and account reconciliations, ensuring strong financial controls and reporting accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, executive summaries, and budget-to-actual variance analyses of key accounts for presentation to senior Finance management.
  • Serve as the Mexico process owner for internal controls, ensuring alignment with the Company's global control framework.
  • Lead Finance participation in ERP transformation initiatives, partnering with IT and Corporate Finance to optimize NetSuite and enhance financial systems and processes.
  • Partner with Treasury on accounts payable, cash forecasting, collections optimization, and working capital management.
  • Partner with the Miami/LATAM accounting team to support regional accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
  • Lead client communications related to agency rebate reconciliations and other finance-related inquiries.
  • Manage and develop a team of three finance professionals while coordinating the work of external accounting partners by establishing priorities, coaching team members, managing performance, and promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Human Resources on payroll-related processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational support.
  • Support budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis by providing actionable financial insights and recommendations.
  • Champion the adoption of AI, automation, and emerging technologies across Finance to improve reporting, controls, productivity, and decision-making.
  • Drive continuous process improvement through standardization, automation, and implementation of finance best practices.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA (Contador Público Certificado) or equivalent professional accounting designation preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in Mexico, including ownership of the month-end close, corporate reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, and audit coordination.
  • Experience managing and developing accounting professionals with direct people management responsibilities.
  • Experience working within multinational organizations reporting under US GAAP and partnering with US-based Corporate Finance teams.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP is highly preferred.
  • Experience with FloQast (or similar financial close management software) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Mexican accounting principles, internal controls, and the full financial close process.
  • Experience preparing executive financial reporting packages and presenting financial results to senior Finance management.
  • Experience working with a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal) is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and automation to improve finance processes, reporting, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
