About the Position:
We are looking for experienced hands-on IT System Engineer, with strong Linux background, to be part of the company’s lab team, responsible for maintaining the company R&D lab (hardware wise), developing, and maintaining the lab deployment automation process (Ansible, Jenkins, and more), setup customer facing POC environments, and managing the lab critical services, such as Jenkins, GIT, PXE and more.
In this role you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, inventory, and security of technical resources deployed within Pliops, which includes servers, storage devices, FPGA cards, network devices etc.
Initiate and contribute to the consistent improvement of how Pliops uses and maintains its lab environment.
The role includes:
- Troubleshooting lab servers’ hardware relates issues
- Installation, configuration and management of virtual\physical servers and network devices
- Oversee & monitor performance and availability of the production & development environments
- Deployment automation development
- Lead pro-active projects and lab utilization improvement tasks
Requirements
- Experience in installation, configuration maintenance of servers, storage and HW devices
- Proven hands-on experience with DELL/HPE servers hardware (including IPMI protocols)
- Proven hands-on experience with Linux servers’ administration
- Proven hands-on experience with VMWARE vSphere environment
- Experience with monitoring solutions such as DataDog/PRTG
- Knowledge in TCP/IP networks
- Knowledge in automation applications such as Ansible/Puppet/Chef
- Knowledge in any scripting language - an advantage
- Quick learner and have great attention to details.
- Service oriented with great communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work flexible and sometimes long hours as workload demands
