We seek a Production Engineer to help Similarweb’s software engineering teams develop large-scale solutions using cutting-edge technologies and design.

Production engineers are the backbone of Similarweb's operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient collection, processing, and delivery of accurate and up-to-date digital market intelligence to our clients. Their responsibilities span scalability, reliability, security, performance optimization, innovation, collaboration, cost efficiency, and compliance, all of which are critical components of a successful technology-driven business.
So, what will you be doing all day?
- Agile Solutions: Work in a startup-like environment delivering Agile solutions. 🚀
- Innovate: Lead the design of complex applications within a Big Data environment, tackling challenging server-side issues.
Collaborate with application software engineering teams to design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure systems. - Problem-Solve: Tackle tough problems and find creative solutions
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the deployment and scaling of services.
- Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure proactive identification of issues.
- Automate repetitive tasks and manual processes to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
- Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Troubleshooting and mitigating production incidents as part of an on-call rotation alongside engineers from within all other R&D groups (and making sure we don't get the same alert twice)
What will I bring to the team?
This position requires an experienced engineer who shares our passion for technology, infrastructure and building amazing products while being an effective communicator and a people person.
This is the perfect job for someone who:
- 5+ years of experience developing server-side applications and tooling using Python/Java/Node.js/Go.
- 5+ years of experience running a large-scale operation on Amazon Web Services/Google Cloud Engine.
- Tech Enthusiast: Eager to take on challenges and learn new technologies. 🌟
- Good knowledge of Web Servers, Load Balancers, Caching Systems, databases, networking, etc.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with various technical teams.
It’s a plus if you also have:
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform & Pulumi
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration solutions such as Nomad & Kubernetes
- Understanding of security best practices and experience with security incident response.
