The Data for AI team in China is a specialized, client-facing group working directly with China’s leading AI organizations. The team’s mission is to help these companies unlock the full value of Similarweb’s data for their models and AI assistants, by translating our data assets into clear, measurable impact for real-world AI use cases.

The role involves close, on-the-ground collaboration with customer AI, data, and business teams, explaining the value of our data, shaping data and model-driven solutions during the deal process, and supporting successful implementation post-deal. The team operates in a high-ownership environment and plays a direct role in driving both strategic partnerships and long-term customer value realization in advanced AI products.

You will represent the data and model perspective in strategic customer engagements, clearly articulating the value of our large-scale behavioral and digital datasets. You will shape data-driven solutions during the deal cycle, align our capabilities with customer model objectives, and play a direct role in winning and expanding AI partnerships.

Beyond the deal, you will ensure value realization. As a client-facing data scientist, you will translate complex datasets into concrete impact, guide technical integration discussions, support model evaluation efforts, and help customers achieve measurable improvements in performance. Your work will directly connect data, models, revenue, and long-term strategic relationships in one of the most important AI markets globally.

So, what will you be doing all day?

Your daily responsibilities may include:

• Working directly with leading AI companies in China, both on site and remotely, in a fast-paced and high-impact environment
• Running technical workshops with customer AI and data teams to deeply understand their model challenges, data gaps, and performance bottlenecks
• Translating customer pains into clear data-driven solutions, shaping use cases that demonstrate measurable model and business impact
• Supporting the deal process from a data and model perspective, ensuring strong technical alignment and clear value articulation
• Leading post-deal implementation efforts, guiding customers through integration, validation, and benchmarking to ensure successful value realization
• Driving measurable improvements by helping customers effectively apply Similarweb’s data within their model development and evaluation workflows

This is the perfect job for someone who:

• Holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science/Mathematics/Physics or any other relevant field - Required
• Minimum 3 years of experience with statistical and machine learning tools - Python, R, etc.
• Strong communicative and verbal abilities to lead and guide customers through the logic of custom-built models in both Chinese and English
• Has previous experience working with machine learning/ image processing/NLP/LLM or similar algorithms
• Familiarity with SQL
• Experience with Big Data tools and cloud infrastructure; PySpark, AWS
• Hands on background in LLMs & AI Agents
