Associate Product Manager
Veritone
POSITION SUMMARY
We’re seeking a highly motivated Associate Product Manager (APM) to join our team and build the foundation for a career in product management. This role is designed as a launchpad: during the first year, you’ll immerse yourself in the aiWARE platform and product ecosystem by serving as the primary liaison between Product and Support teams. You’ll manage escalated customer issues, identify product improvement opportunities, and refine documentation to enhance the customer experience. This hands-on exposure will give you deep knowledge of our platform, customers, and operations—setting the stage to grow into owning one or more products outright in your second year. If you’re hungry to learn, thrive on solving problems, and are excited to take full product ownership in the future, we want to hear from you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Year 1: Product Support & Platform Immersion
Act as the first line of product input for internal support escalations to gain a 360° understanding of the aiWARE platform and product portfolio.
Work closely with Support, Client Success, Engineering, and QA teams to triage and resolve escalated issues efficiently.
Analyze customer pain points and escalation trends to uncover recurring product issues and influence roadmap prioritization.
Serve as the “voice of the customer” in internal discussions to ensure user needs are front and center.
Keep stakeholders informed with timely updates and recommendations during resolution efforts.
Documentation Leadership
Own the audit, maintenance, and improvement of all product documentation, including user guides, release notes, and troubleshooting resources.
Prioritize updates based on product changes, support insights, and customer feedback to enable scalable, self-serve solutions.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure documentation is accurate, user-friendly, and impactful.
Growth Path: From Support to Product Ownership
Leverage your first-year experience to transition into full ownership of one or more products.
Drive end-to-end product lifecycle management: define requirements, partner with engineering, launch features, and measure success.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
0–2 years experience in a product, support, or technical writing role—ideally in a SaaS or technology environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to break down technical issues and propose solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a knack for simplifying complexity.
A “learn it all” mindset with the drive to develop into a full-fledged product owner.
Experience working cross-functionally with support, engineering, and product teams.
Familiarity with tools like Confluence, GitHub, JIRA, Google Docs
Ability to learn SQL and write basic data queries for support triage.
Understanding of basic web protocols (HTTP, APIs, etc.).
Self-starter attitude with strong project management skills and a bias for action.
Why This Role?
This isn’t just an entry-level product role—it’s an apprenticeship for product ownership. You’ll gain a deep understanding of our platform and customer needs in your first year, then take that knowledge to drive real impact as you grow into managing products end-to-end.
