You will design, build, and optimize workflows that seamlessly connect endpoints, ingest files, process them with AI, extract meaning from data, and deliver actionable intelligence. By deeply understanding client business needs, you will architect elegant, scalable workflows on aiWARE that transform raw data into measurable business value.This role is ideal for someone who is equal parts builder and business thinker, a maker who can design robust workflows, speak the language of clients, and translate business processes into scalable technical solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Design and implement end-to-end workflows on aiWARE, integrating file ingestion, AI engine processing, and output actions/webhooks.
Collaborate closely with product, design, and client-facing teams to translate business processes into technical workflows.
Build reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective backend services primarily in Node.js and Node-RED.
Leverage analytics to design workflows with measurable inputs, outputs, and business outcomes.
Partner with operations and infrastructure teams to ensure workflows scale, perform, and are monitored effectively.
Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, bridging the gap between business logic and engineering.
Continuously explore, prototype, and deliver creative solutions that expand aiWARE’s workflow capabilities.
Mentor and guide junior engineers on workflow best practices and business-driven design.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
10+ years of professional experience building scalable backend services and distributed systems.
Proven track record of translating complex business requirements into technical workflows.
Strong expertise in Node.js (APIs, backend systems, performance tuning).
Advanced experience with Node-RED for workflow automation and orchestration.
Exposure to Python/Go for building engines & integrating services.
Strong analytical skills — able to break down processes, and measure workflow effectiveness.
Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical workflows in simple, business-friendly terms.
History of self-starting and ownership, taking initiatives from idea to production.
Successful deployments of production workflows at scale.
Familiarity with containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for deployment and scaling.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Kibana, Grafana) to ensure workflow reliability.

This base pay is for illustrative purposes only and will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements. This position may be eligible for additional compensation and benefits including but not limited to: incentive compensation; health benefits; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off; parental leave and benefits; and other employee perks and benefits.
